Alt: Laboratory and research facility workwear rental and garment managementCleanroom Workwear Rental
A garment programme built around the laboratory’s risk assessment and procedures.
Laboratories, diagnostic facilities and research environments vary widely. Some require conventional lab coats; others operate controlled areas with defined gowning, garment-processing or particle-control requirements. Premark can discuss cleanroom and related workwear options, but the garment and service level should be selected against the actual site procedure and risk assessment.
In scope
Clarify the area and task
- Routine laboratory, diagnostic, research or controlled production activity.
- Required garment type: lab coat, gown, coverall or additional head/foot protection.
- Whether protective apparel is for product cleanliness, wearer safety, biohazard control or more than one purpose.
- Handling and cleaning requirements and whether any special decontamination procedure is required.
- Segregation, storage and movement rules between areas.
Detail
Do not confuse different kinds of protection
Cleanroom garments are not automatically chemical protective clothing, biological PPE or sterile apparel. If the work involves infectious materials, hazardous chemicals or another specific hazard, the facility’s safety and biosafety team must determine the correct PPE and decontamination protocol. Premark should quote only for the garment and processing scope it can substantiate.
Detail
A sensible service setup
Group garments by task or department, agree clean and used return points, set delivery frequency and define what happens when a garment is damaged or exposed to a special hazard. Do not put hazardous or exceptional contamination into the routine rental stream without a documented acceptance and handling process.
